Dr Nazia Khanum OBE

Nazia works with diverse communities across the UK to promote their development and empowerment and was awarded an OBE by the Queen for services to equal opportunities and community relations in 2006. She has extensive senior management experience with five English local authorities. She is on the boards of several key decision-making and copmmunity-empowerment organisations, including: Non-Executive Director of Luton Primary Care Trust, member of the Corporation of Luton Sixth Form College, Chair of Luton All-Women's Centre, Luton Multi-Cultural Women's Coalition, Luton British Bangladeshi Helping Hand, Purbachal - the Eastern Sky, etc. She is a member of the government's Muslim Women's Advisory Group and a government equality ambassador for the Eastern Region.

Dr David Cheesman

was formerly Head of Policy, Research and Statistics at the Housing Corporation and Visiting Professor of Society and Development at Sheffield Hallam University. He is a Board member of Luton Community Housing, a member of the Advisory Panel of Boardview, an Associate of the St Andrews Management Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. His
key skills include housing; financial services; social and economic policy; government regulation; social research and survey methodologies; the management of programmes, projects, contracts, surveys and data; good practice in tendering; change management; promotion of knowledge culture; good practice in staff recruitment, retention, career development; promoting equality and diversity in the workplace and society, community cohesion, etc.
